Bedroom Canvas's

So, I loved the color scheme for the fabrics for the kitchen and dining room so much that I just had to bring some of it into our bedroom as well.

Well, sorta. I still used the fabric from the Michael Miller Antiquity line, in the breeze color collection - including the ephemeral print (which is GORGEOUS, and is the main fabric on my kitchen apron. I seriously am in love with this) the qoutrefoils, damask, and the script print (which is also pretty awesome), all on the champagne silk dupioni fabric as a border.
I think it 'matches' the mood of our house much more so now.

I loved the fabric that I had on the canvases originally - you might have reconginized the same prints as part of my new patio table linens set - but it was too bright compared to everything else in the house, especially in the bedroom. It stuck out like a sore thumb.

I find the new effect to be calming and serene. The best part is, even Mr. Duck said he liked it.
I didn't even have to ask him for his opinion first!

Oh, and those cute white pleated pillows? My newest Marshalls find - at 7 dollars each!

Can you tell I'm really big on textures this year? We have the organic sheets from Target in ivory, as well as the kissing pleat bedspread with its pintucks and buttons. Then we have a white fuzzy blanket on, as well as a white knit blanket - throw in the pintuck shams, and the pleated pillows, and it makes for a monochramatic textured heaven!

Fabric Happiness

Ahhhh...how I love the feeling of a new pile of fabric.

So, all of our recent spring cleaning has me in the mood to do some spring decorating. My tasks this week involves making new curtains for the kitchen and dining room, and place mats and a table runner for our patio furniture. I bought two completely different sets of fabric for both of them from Jo Anns, and I love them both equally - one is calming and serene, one is cheerful and bright.

The first, for the curtains, is a set of textures. If I had to be honest, I might actually love these just a tad more. It's my favorite cream/ivory/white scheme, all in textures. I picked up some antique white muslin for the lining, tan burlap for the tie backs, and for the panels; a cream/white calico damask , and an ivory linen-look-alike fabric ( I can't remember what it's called, I think it began with an H...), as well as my favorite Michael Miller antiquity fabric in brown for the kitchen valance. I also picked up some cream ribbon and some ivory hem binding.

The second set is based off the colors in the kitchen, actually, even though they will be used outside on the deck - light teal and green. I've got the same 3 prints, but in the 2 colors, for a total of 6 patterns. I'm going to make the place mats out of the damask and the filigree one, and a runner out of the two polka dot ones.

I do love polka dots!
